There is a lot of misunderstanding going on about antique post mortem photos showing the deceased standing upright and the use of the posing stand. The purpose of the posing stand was to keep the posers fixed and in position because of the time it took to take the photographs. The subject is placed in front of the camera. If necessary, the pose is held with the assistance of adjustable head rests, clamps and posing stands.

Today, Fed Ex delivered not one, but TWO Victorian era children’s coffins, both with viewing windows.
The white coffin is the larger of the two and I would estimate its age to be around the 1880s, while the smaller brownish/orange coffin to be from the 1870s.

Child skulls litter the ground around a burial tree in Tibet. Tree burial is popular with Tibetans in Nyingchi and Kangbei, and applied mainly to dead infants, though children as old as thirteen have been entombed this way. Once the vessel holding the body in the tree disintegrates, the remains will fall to the forest floor.
