Kensal Green Cemetery

The first of the ‘Magnificent Seven’ London cemeteries, it’s not as ramshackle and overgrown as Highgate, being much flatter and more spaced out (and also still in use), but it’s just as interesting, and has plenty of lovely small gravestones as well as some bonkers vaults. There are a lot of well known names here as well, mostly on the more modest gravestones (you’re never far from class issues, even in a cemetery) and none more well known and influential than Brunel. I like that Brunel’s (family) grave is fairly unassuming compared to the egyptian-themed enormo-vaults of the rich and far less important.
